National Honor Society

Established in 1921, the National Honor Society (NHS) is a prestigious organization that recognizes outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, the NHS serves to honor students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of Scholarship, Leadership, Service, and Character.
Students can become eligible for membership in the Colton Chapter of the NHS once they have met the following requirements:

  • successful completion of the first semester of their 10th grade
  • evidence of Scholarship (overall Grade Point Average (GPA) of at least 3.40)
  • evidence of Leadership (student government, church, athletics, etc.)
  • evidence of Service (community service, church service, volunteering, etc.)
  • evidence of Character (personal essay, references, etc.)

Eligible students are notified in writing and must complete an application process to be considered for membership.
